SKYLARK MALAYSIA 1UTAMA Mall PROJECT

On May 20, SKYLARK MALAYSIA SDN. BHD., part of the SKYLARK Group, opened a new “Shabu-Yo” restaurant at the 1 Utama shopping centre in Bandar Utama, Selangor. This marks the 7th “Shabu-Yo” project in Malaysia.

In this project, our scope included design review, regulatory compliance checks, negotiation and coordination of handover conditions with the shopping mall, construction cost reduction through a competitive bidding process, and support for the preparation of the construction contract.

Due to specific restrictions at the 1 Utama mall, construction work was only permitted on weekends. This required careful schedule coordination and planning to meet the tight deadlines. Furthermore, the project was carried out in compliance with the GreenRE certification – a sustainability-focused standard for green building and development in Malaysia – ensuring environmentally responsible design and construction.

Project Characteristics

• Full support provided until store operation, including quality control, schedule management, and business license application

• Designed and built in accordance with GreenRE, Malaysia’s sustainable building certification

• The largest Shabu-Yo outlet so far, with many two-seater tables to meet the needs of a new target customer.
