The renovation project for The Penang Japanese School has been successfully completed.
Following the school’s relocation to an existing building, extensive renovation works were carried out. These included the installation of air-conditioning units in classrooms, toilet refurbishment, and upgrading of facilities in the science and music rooms. In particular, soundproofing was implemented for the music room, electrical and plumbing systems in the science laboratory were upgraded, and the power supply system was enhanced to provide a safer and more comfortable learning environment.
As the building was originally constructed under older building standards, renovation work was also carried out to bring it into compliance with current regulations. This included the following safety measures:
- Installation of an emergency staircase
- Installation of fire compartments and fire-rated doors
- Addition of fire hose reel systems
Through these works, along with the necessary design and approval processes with the authorities, a new Certificate of Compliance was obtained in accordance with current building codes.
Throughout the project, design coordination, tender support, and construction management were carried out in an integrated manner to ensure safety, functionality, and comfort within a tight schedule.
