\u3000NHK MANUFACTURING (M) SDN BHD<\/a> is the Malaysian subsidiary of NHK Spring Co., Ltd. In 1994, they established their Senawang site in Seremban, Malaysia, where they have been manufacturing Integrated Metal Substrate. In response to the recent increase in semiconductor demand across the ASEAN region, the company has expanded its facility by constructing a new factory equipped with state-of-the-art cleanroom technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000Our company was involved in the project at NHKM’s request, participating from the early stages of the expansion plan. We provided support in conducting the feasibility study for the new factory, managing the bidding process and contractor selection, offering cost-saving proposals and cost evaluations, and assisting with the basic and detailed designs. Additionally, we maintained an on-site presence during construction to ensure quality control. The new factory was successfully completed in August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25c6Key Features of This Project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u2460 Adopting Precast Floor Construction and BIM to Shorten the Construction Period<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This project employed an advanced precast floor construction method and utilized BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology to improve the accuracy of both design and construction, while simultaneously reducing the construction period and costs. The use of precast floor construction significantly streamlined the floor installation process, greatly shortening the construction timeline. This was a crucial factor in ensuring smooth project progress, contributing not only to time and cost savings but also to the overall efficiency of the construction process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000BIM technology enabled highly accurate simulations during the design phase, which proved especially valuable in the installation of the cleanroom equipment. By utilizing 3D models, we were able to meticulously review the layout of structures and equipment, improving design accuracy and minimizing the need for adjustments or corrections on-site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2461 Separate Procurement of WWTP, DI&DO Systems, Scrubber, and Office Furniture for Cost Reduction<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\u3000One of the standout features of this project was the separate procurement of the WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant), DI&DO (Deionized and Distilled Water System), scrubbers, and office furnit ure, which contributed to significant cost reductions. This approach allowed for the procurement of materials and equipment at more appropriate costs. Furthermore, Plus PM, acting on behalf of the client, worked closely with the main contractor to manage the design and construction. Through this management structure, not only was cost control achieved, but quality and schedule management were also rigorously maintained, leading to the smooth progression of the project until its completion in August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000With the completion of this new factory, NHK MANUFACTURING has established a solid foundation for the rapid and stable supply of semiconductors in response to the growing demand in the market.
